Alleged Bomb Threat on Pearl St.
On April 8, 2021, Boulder PD responded to an alleged bomb threat on Boulder’s Pearl St. Mall.
A tweet from Boulder PD was sent out at 11:07 a.m. stating, “A Mandatory Shelter In Place Order has been issued for the area(s) of area surrounding the Pearl Street Mall due to a Bomb Threat. Take the following protective actions immediately: if inside shelter in place, all pedestrians outside evacuate the area immediately.”
Although PD have not confirmed the bomb threat, they are asking those in the surrounding area to take shelter. Pearl St. has been blocked off and businesses will remain closed for the time being.
As of 12 p.m., The University has yet to comment or notify students of the situation.
On April 8, Boulder Police Department opened Pearl Street to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic after suspicious items cleared as not explosive by caution dogs.
