Anthony “Deuce” Roberson II, who committed to the University of Colorado Boulder as a walk-on wide receiver in December, is no longer a member of the football team, according to the University of Colorado.
Roberson, who was listed to be “away” from the football team prior to this change, was accused of sexual assault, harrasment or rape by at least 14 women during his time in Palmer Ridge high school and Snow College.
The change in the team’s roster comes less than two weeks before CU’s spring football game that is set to take place on April 22.
According to Steve Hurlbert, the chief spokesperson for the university, “Deuce Roberson is no longer with the football team,” but is still enrolled as a student but cannot comment further due to FERPA privacy laws.
Jenna Baker, a first-year student at the university and author of a change.org petition that called for Roberson’s expulsion, said she is “disappointed” Roberson is still enrolled as a student. However, Baker added she felt relieved knowing Roberson was no longer listed on the team’s roster.
“Definitely validating to see that coach Prime eventually did live up to his standards of like, you have to earn your number and I think that’s a super important precedent to set going forward for anyone who wants to do football, anyone who wants to be around that team,” she said.
The spring game, which is sold out this year, will also be the only college football game that is set to be televised on ESPN.
