Munson Farms pumpkin patch makes for an easy and quick way to take a break and get into the fall spirit

The Munson Farms pumpkin patch is the perfect place to take a break from the demanding life of a college student and enjoy the aesthetic of fall. Munson Farms is located right outside of Boulder, only 20 minutes away from campus, making it an easy trip. Munson Farms not only provides a pumpkin patch but also, fresh vegetables, apples, and a beautiful flower field that is open to the public to pick.

“The Munsons, who started Munson Farms, have been around for over 40 years,” worker Amy Sembower said. “Mr. and Mrs. Munson started selling corn outside of the courthouse in downtown Boulder before moving to their property that we are at now.”

Munson Farms is a family-run business. After walking in, one can feel the love and sense the comfort that this place has brought for the Munson family and the workers.

“The Munsons kids are all in college now,” Sembower said. “They come home in the summers and over the breaks to help work the farm and the events.”

The farm and pumpkin patch is open everyday of the week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“There is a great deal going on right now where you can fill up a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins for 100 dollars,” Sembower said. “This accounts for the large jack o’lantern pumpkins and small jack o’lantern pumpkins but not the gourds.”

The flower garden also has a great deal of 1 dollar per flower.

“My favorite part of the farm was the flower picking,” freshman Arlie Goldman said. “There was an amazing array of different colored flowers which provided for a great photo opp moment.”

“After my kids reached the age where they were too cool to hang out with me, I started coming out here all the time because how could you not,” Sembower said. “One day I said, I have to work here, and they said, can you start work tomorrow, and I’ve been doing it ever since.”

Whether you want to buy pumpkins, pick flowers, or simply just go for some fall aesthetic photos, Munson Farms is the place to go. If you’re feeling homesick, the love and kindness of Munsons Farms will make you feel right at home.
