Photos: Students and Fans Flocked to Folsom This Year
Parking lots and Folsom Field were much more lively this season as fans gathered on Saturday gamedays.
The term “football is back” circulated throughout sports discussions this past summer as COVID-19 regulations loosened. Specifically for CU fans, the population waited in anticipation to be back at Folsom Field and witness the Buffaloes, in-person, play on their home turf.
Throughout the fall, CU flags flew high at tailgates as fans gathered to throw a football, play cornhole and have a beer with friends and family. Thousands of Colorado residents flocked to Folsom every Saturday, ranking CU game days with the second highest attendance in the Pac-12 with 47,524 average attendance.
The Buffaloes had some difficult games at Folsom this season, Minnesota (0-30) and USC (14-37). They didn’t see success on the road with zero wins, but mid season the Buffs turned around their home performance. They shut out Arizona (34-0), had a spectacular game against Oregon State that went into double overtime (37-34) and the final home game came down to the wire against Washington (20-17).
Even with season lows (and highs), CU fans celebrated the Buffs at every home game. The Bold staff members captured fans at every step of the way this season at Folsom.
The Buffs take on Utah in Salt Lake City today at 2 p.m. for the final game of the season.
