Keith Miller III, Former Buffs Wide Receiver, Dies at 23
Former University of Colorado Boulder wide receiver Keith Miller III unexpectedly passed away on Thursday evening in his apartment near the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus. Miller was 23 years old.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death.
“We are heartbroken by Keith’s unexpected passing,” said head coach Clint Dolezel. “Keith was a beloved father, son, teammate, and student-athlete. We extend our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all who loved him at this very difficult time.”
Texas A&M University-Commerce made a statement regarding Miller’s passing, extending condolences to his family, as well as the campus at-large.
“Known for his infectious smile and personality, Miller was a two-year member of the Lion football program and served as a team captain in the 2023 season.”
Right out of high school, ESPN deputed Miller as a top 150 wide receiver nationally, and the number 121 player from Texas. Miller started his career at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he did not see any game action in the 2020–2021 seasons. He transferred to Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2023.
Miller appeared in 18 games for the A&M Lions, totaling 457 yards, 39 receptions and four touchdowns, according to his 2024 roster.
During his time at CU, Miller was a mathematics major. According to his 2021 roster, Miller hoped to become an architect following his collegiate career.
The CU Buffs Football Instagram page issued a statement of condolence following the former Buff’s death, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Buff, Keith Miller. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates,”
