University Hill shooting: second arrest made
The Boulder Police Department arrested a second male in connection with the University Hill shooting.
The Boulder Police Department announced they arrested Gabriel Sharma, 18, in connection with the University Hill shooting that occurred on Sunday.
“Detectives arrested him on charges of felony attempt murder in the first degree-extreme indifference, felony attempt murder in the first degree-after deliberation, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct-discharge firearm,” according to the city of Boulder website.
According to reports, the Boulder Police, the Boulder District Attorney’s Office, Longmont Police and the Boulder County SWAT Team conducted a search warrant at Sharma’s house in Longmont. A revolver and automatic rifle was found. He is being held on a $500,000 bond at the Boulder County jail.
Patrols will increase on the University Hill to ensure that everyone is safe, Boulder Police Department Chief Maris Herold said in a press release.
Zakiyy Lucas, 22, was shot and taken into custody on Sunday in connection with the shooting. According to the District Attorney’s office, they will prosecute this case.
