PHOTOS: Wildfire still burning near NCAR and Eldorado Springs
Yesterday, March 26, a wildfire near NCAR and the flatirons began around 2 p.m.
On March 26, around 2 p.m. a wildfire began near the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Traveling south west, the fire moved towards Eldorado Springs, a popular hiking and rock climbing area. There are no structural damages at this time.
Currently, officials say the fire is 21% contained and has burned 189 acres, as of 10 a.m. There are no changes to evacuation orders, as responders fear changing winds right along the Front Range.
The next public briefing will be at 4 p.m. We will update this article as more information is released.
