Of The Trees, a Denver based organic bass DJ sold out Boulder Theater on Saturday, March 11. He took the audience through a mystical quest of “Codex Nature” on this hero’s journey. The show began with the text “Our Journey Begins…” and follows three acts where he guides people through videogame lore, text prompts, and nature imagery.

The crowd was full of people indulging themselves in the music. People were yelling in joy, some were decked out as unicorns to match the mystical energy that is Of The Trees and others wrote out on their phones “I wish I could always be this happy.” The energy in Boulder Theater was electric the bass moved from feet to your head when he effortlessly blended “Spanish Moss,” “Windhorse” and “Honeydust.”

“I definitely enjoyed the music the most. He just always has the best vibes. I also liked the intimacy of this show. It was nice actually being able to see the artist and not have to look at a huge screen,” Harley Peters, a junior at the University of Colorado told The Bold.

The small space of the Boulder Theater allowed concert-goers to connect with each other and create this space with one another to listen to one of their favorite DJs. The psychedelic nature images that were projected transcended you into a mystical fairyland that intensified the deep organic bass sound that is Of The Trees.
